Where can I take my vehicle if I have a problem?

Good news! As long as the repair facility is licensed and is located in the United States or Canada, customers can take their vehicles to any dealer, national chain, or local mechanic for repairs.

Who will be administering my claims?

Claims are administered by Liberty STF ASE certified adjusters and our customer support team. Liberty STF team members have extensive automotive industry backgrounds. With the latest technology at their fingertips, our certified adjusters focus on efficient processing, accuracy in handling claims, and rapid response to customer concerns.

What if I have an emergency repair and your office is closed?

Reimbursement for emergency repairs performed outside of normal business hours can be obtained by the service contract holder provided the provisions governing emergency repairs are followed on the next business day after such emergency repairs are performed. Please refer to the contract coverage pages for details.

How do I get a rental car?

Liberty STF Vehicle Service Contracts provide rental car coverage from a licensed vehicle rental company. Many repair facilities have loaner cars or have a rental facility onsite. However, if your repair facility does not provide rental cars, contact your local rental car company and retain your receipt. Your Vehicle Service Contract provides coverage: 1) As soon as the repair estimate is received and coverage is determined; 2) If your vehicle becomes inoperable and must remain at the repair facility as a result of an authorized mechanical breakdown or failure; 3) If the mechanical breakdown or failure has been authorized for four (4) or more hours of labor. Please refer to your actual Vehicle Service Contract for specific coverage limits and conditions. You must have an authorized and coverable claim to receive rental car reimbursement.

How do Liberty STF deductibles work?

No matter how many parts require repair, Liberty STF customers only pay one deductible per repair visit. Many of our plans offer a zero deductible option, so customers will never reach into their pocket for an authorized and covered repair.

How does Liberty STF pay claims?

Liberty STF utilizes SecureCard from StoneEagle Group. StoneEagle leverages the latest technology to create safe, secure connection points between administrators and their clients. Once we receive a completed invoice, claim reimbursement is paid directly to the repair facility via corporate credit card in about 15 minutes - providing a fast and worry-free claims experience for our customers. In the event the shop the customer chooses does not accept credit cards, we will be happy to pay by check.

Does Liberty STF sell vehicle service contracts directly?

No. Liberty STF does not sell vehicle service contracts directly. Our vehicle service contract programs are designed to meet the needs of reputable franchise and independent dealers, direct marketing companies, membership organizations and financial institutions. Authorized third-party marketers and auto dealers who sell on behalf of multiple companies are only associated with Liberty STF in the event that the vehicle service contract sold is administered by our office.

Cancellation FAQ

How do customers cancel their vehicle service contract?

Although we're certain you'll appreciate the freedom from worry your Liberty STF vehicle service contract provides, you are able to cancel your coverage. For details or to request cancellation, contact the seller or the administrator listed in your vehicle service contract.

Can I cancel my vehicle service contract online?

No. We are unable to process cancellation requests online at this time. For details or to request cancellation, contact the seller or the administrator listed in your vehicle service contract.

What is a prorated refund?

Prorated refunds are based on the total vehicle service contract purchase price calculated upon the greater of the days in force or the miles driven compared to the total contract term, less claims paid and less a cancellation fee. Please refer to your actual vehicle service contract for details and state specific information.

How long will it take to receive my refund?

If you cancel your contract within the first 30 days: Cancellations will take 10-15 business days to process depending on the seller agreement and whether payment was made in full or through a payment plan. If you cancel your contract after the first 30 days and payment was made in full: Cancellations will take 10-15 business days to process depending on the seller agreement. General FAQ

What is a vehicle service contract?

Vehicle service contracts are designed to protect consumers and their pocketbooks against unexpected, costly repairs to their vehicles. Plans cover the costs associated with auto repair, including parts, labor, and sales tax, for covered repairs or replacements. Vehicle service contracts have different coverage levels and benefits, depending on the type of contract purchased and the place of purchase; therefore coverage for any given repair is based on the terms and conditions of the consumer's particular plan. Much like a manufacturer's warranty, the vehicle components that are specified for coverage in the vehicle service contract should be covered entirely, provided regular maintenance has been properly and regularly performed as defined by the terms and conditions of the contract.

What is an extended auto warranty?

An "extended auto warranty" is a contract offered by a new car dealer to wrap the new car factory warranty and extend beyond it. A vehicle service contract is sometimes incorrectly referred to as an "extended auto warranty" or "extended warranty" if sold outside of a new vehicle purchase. The difference is subtle but important: extended auto warranties are offered by car dealers. Auto warranties are provided by a manufacturer and are included with the original vehicle purchase. In contrast, vehicle service contracts must be purchased separately and can be purchased at any time; although the earlier you purchase a vehicle service contract in the life of the vehicle, the better coverage you can usually obtain.

They are separate either because they are made some time after the sale of the product, or because they cost the customer a fee beyond the purchase price of the product.

Are manufacturers involved in the creation/sale of contracts?
